Drummer/percussionist David Bayles is an active musician currently residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dave has performed with Steve Allen, Bobby Broom, Richie Cole, Richard Davis, Denis DiBlasio, Madaline Eastman, Slide Hampton, David Hazeltine, Brian Lynch, Frank Mantooth, Kitty Margolis, Jack McDuff, Frank Morgan, Bob Mintzer, James Moody, Dave Pietro, Tim Ries, Melvin Rhyne, Bobby Shew, Jim Snidero, Marvin Stamm and more.
In addition to his jazz performance, Dave has performed with the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, Bel Canto Chorus, Skylight Opera Company, Waukesha Symphony, Greely Philharmonic and the Rome Festival Orchestra in Italy. In addition Dave shares drum duty with Dan Trudell's other favorite percussionist, Clyde Stubblefield, on NPR's "What Do You Know Show."
Having earned his BFA in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he currently teaches percussion at UW-Parkside and serves as Percussion Chairperson of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Dave is an artist/clinician for the Yamaha Musical Instrument Corporation and Zildjian Cymbal Company, and teaches and performs at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, Eastern Illinois University, Southwestern Illinois and UW-Whitewater summer jazz camps. Dave has recorded with Mike Plog, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music Jazz Faculty, Luis Diaz, Curt Hanrahan, Julie Wood, and Melvin Ryhne among others. His credentials also include music for numerous television and radio spots.
